Rick Aguirre is co-founder and president of Cirries. With more than thirty years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Rick has a successful record of developing and advancing companies that have emerging, industry-changing technologies.
He also held a number of key positions in large telecommunications equipment manufacturers. He began his career at Datapoint Corporation’s Integrated Electronic Office Systems Group. Rick joined Northern Telecom (Nortel Networks) in 1983 and spent eight years in engineering, product management and sales and marketing management positions. He served as director of cellular sales and later was named director, strategic marketing in the newly formed Wireless Systems Division. Rick was instrumental in forging relationships with Qualcomm and PacTel Cellular, which helped elevate Northern Telecom to one of the premier wireless manufacturers.
In 1991, Rick became a partner in SCS Mobilecom, a CDMA research and development company, which
was sold to InterDigital, Inc. (“IDCC”) in 1992. He left InterDigital in 1993 and founded a
telecommunications consulting company, which represented a consortium of companies in the
development of several key wireless standards, including WIMS/W-CDMA and 802.11.
More recently and prior to co-founding Cirries, Rick served as vice president, product management and Marketing for jNetX, Inc., and as vice president and general manager of Protek Limited’s Americas Group, a Warburg-Pincus company.
Roger Boivin is a qualified executive with more than 30 years’ experience in the telecom and data management industries with emphasis on new technology. He has significant experience with emerging businesses focused on maturing innovative ideas into new products. He is particularly effective in building strong, mutually beneficial relationships focused on achieving the organizations’ business goals.
A graduate of SJTI in St. John, New Brunswick, Roger spent more than a decade in operations,
engineering and management roles with the New Brunswick Telephone Company before joining Northern Telecom Canada. He then transferred to Richardson, Texas, and was quickly promoted to vice president of cellular sales and marketing for Northern Telecom. He was instrumental in nurturing that business from startup to a multi-million- dollar-a- year opportunity.
Roger subsequently enjoyed success at Hughes Network, Ericsson, National Telemanagement Corporation and as president of COM DEV Wireless, a Canadian company with its USA headquarters in Richardson Texas. He then accepted a position as president and COO of ISCO International, a company providing interference solutions for the wireless industry using cryogenically cooled filters.
In his most recent position as general manager for the Americas at jNetX Inc., Roger was responsible for all sales and strategic alliances of next-generation IMS service layer platform for North America, Latin America, and South America. He closed a major partnership agreement with CGI worldwide and assisted in carrier RFI and RF responses with IBM, Sun and Stratus Computing. He authored the complete sales and technical courses on convergent networks and the evolution to IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS).
Eduardo Duran is accountable for sales, revenue, profit and customer management and service. Mr. Duran has more than 10 years of business leadership experience in multinational environments, having lived in the Silicon Valley, US and Latin America.
During his career, he has built a reputation for operational excellence, innovative strategic thinking, working with the highest level of integrity, and a deep and passionate commitment to his clients. His customers and colleagues laud his reputation for team building and detail orientation as well as his ability to manage complex customer relationships which building cross functional collaboration.
He is fluent in English and Spanish holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering as well as a Master’s in International Business Administration.
Thomas Wiklund comes to Cirries with extensive experience in engineering, technical support, business development and sales management for applications within the telecom, IT, avionics, military and industrial field.
After spending almost a decade at Ericsson, both in Sweden and the United States in various positions, Thomas spent a couple of years at Joslyn Electronics (a Danaher Company), where he was involved with account management for surge protection devices to OEMs and operators. For almost eight years at Ulticom, a premier signaling solutions company, he was involved in global account management and business development with major OEMs. Most recently he marketed Wi-Fi/Femto data offload solutions for operators at IntelliNet Technologies and Ruckus Wireless.
